For the next four years, the Kern Group will be working with researchers at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) on Phase 2 of their DOE-funded project, Integrated Multi-scale, Multi-sector Modeling (IM3). Led by Jennie Rice, this project will involve the development and use of open source bulk power systems simulation software to explore interactions with other sectors (water resources, agriculture, urban systems, transportation) and vulnerability to extreme weather events.
